What Music Means to Me ?

Music is central to my life. Without music, the world would be naked, cold and quiet. Music can set the rhythm for a long day of work, the mood for a date, a party or even your whole life. It can wrap you in a blanket when you are down. Music is a vehicle for expressing love, telling a story, or whowing happiness. My love for music has grown throughout the past few years and continues to do so even today. Playing musical instruments such as the piano, flute, clarinet, bass trombone, drum has deepened my appreciation for the sounds I hear when I listen to music. From personal experience playing in concerts and learn to compose my own song I have captured the views of both sides of music's artistic prism: creation and presentation. Creation, I have learned can be a tremendously tedious task. It involves more than perserverance and determination. Creating music requires the harmonious articulation of one's feelings and thoughts through instrumental or vocal sounds. Music is the universal language!!!

Save the World

Ish
Is it too late to save the world? Probably not! Perhaps the real question should be if society will actually do something about it or not. Perhaps the world leaders are more interested in money than the welfare of the environment.

Money makes the world go round, this could be true from an economical point of view but from the environmental aspect money is being fed into the wrong areas and screeching the world to a halt. The world should be putting plans into action at this stage in the earths rescue. Instead scientists are still trying to ‘understand’ what is going on. This is just taking up more and more time, leaving the earth to rot as they do their ‘research.’

There are many different ways that we as the earths population are destroying the environment. For example, the tall cooling towers used by industries. They do not remove pollutants but simply push them higher into the atmosphere, in this way they reduce their concentration at that particular area. The pollutants may then travel over large distances and produce negative effects in areas far away from the original site.

This is only one example of how we are destroying the environment. Power stations are another source. These power stations make use of the cooling towers mentioned earlier, they also emit poisonous gasses such as some nitrogen oxides and probably more dangerous, greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide and chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs).

What are the consequences of this pollution? We have all heard about the hole in the ozone layer, global warming or even the famous armageggon. These are more drastic examples, why not look at some cases that have already happened. For instance acid rain is a regular occurrence all around the world. “It forms when oxides of sulphur and nitrogen combine with atmospheric moisture to yield sulphuric and nitric acids, which may then be carried long distances from their source before they are deposited by rain.” This quote from Encarta is very similar to what happens to the pollution caused by the cooling towers. That is strange! What should we do!

haiz...Is money going to make the world keep spinning or will it pull it to a blinding stop???
answer...!!!
